Federico Garcia Lorca

Ariose presents counterpoints from the past and present. Secular meets sacred with works by Renaissance masters Arcadelt and Lassus. We will also feature local composers in different stages of their careers, including Santa Cruz-born Robert H. Young (1923-2011), Hyo-shin Na, a Korean-born composer who now lives in the Bay Area, and Christopher Pratorius, a young California-based composer. We premiere Pratorius's Contraponientes, written for Ariose and featuring a small instrument ensemble.

Michael McGushin, Director

Also featuring Irene Herrmann, piano, Jennifer Cass, harp, Kristin Garbeff cello, Victoria Anderson, flute, Sarah Morris, flute, and Julie Goldstein, piccolo
